我們知道英語主要有五大基本句型
1.主謂
The car stopped
2.主謂賓
We planned many trees in our hometown.
3.主謂雙賓
He tells us a fantastic story.
4.主謂賓賓補
This story makes us very sad.
以上四種句型結構比較好理解，主語都會有實際動作，判斷依據主要是看謂語動詞的性質。
5.主系表
主系表的話可以通過以下關鍵詞記憶：性質、狀態、狀態的變化
Leaves turn yellow.
這句話葉子變黃，就是狀態的變化
The milk smells good.
這句話主要是對牛奶性質的描述
He is an enginner.
這句話是對主語狀態的描述。
注意：前四種句子基本句型適用于很多時態
The car will stop.
The car stops.
The car stopped.
The car has stopped
he said the car had stopped.
he says the car will have stopped until that time.
但是在主系表結構中，當句子是描述人或物性質時，只能用一般現在時和一般過去時
而主系表結構中，表示狀態或狀態變化時，也可以使用很多其它時態
狀態
He will be an engineer.
He is an engineer.
He was an engineer.
He has been an engineer.
They said he had been an engineer.
He will be an engineer until that time.
狀態的變化
The leaves will turn yellow.
The leaves turned yellow.
The leaves turn yellow.
The leaves have turned yellow.
The leaves will have turned yellow.
he said that the leaves had turned yellow.
